FAQs
How long does a denture repair take?
1
Most structural repairs and tooth additions can be completed on the same day. When you call our clinic, our team will coordinate a time to drop off your denture so we can return it to you as quickly as possible.
Do I need an appointment for an emergency repair?
2
While we welcome urgent inquiries, we highly recommend calling our front desk at (07) 3204 6737 before arriving. This allows our laboratory team to prepare for your arrival and minimises your waiting time.
How often do I need a denture reline?
3
As a general rule, we recommend a clinical assessment of your denture's fit every 1 to 2 years. Most patients require a reline every 2 to 3 years to accommodate natural tissue changes and maintain optimal fit.
How long does it take to get used to new dentures?
4
It is entirely normal for new dentures to feel unfamiliar or slightly bulky for the first few weeks. Your tongue and cheek muscles need time to adjust to keeping the appliance in place. We provide full guidance on how to speak and chew comfortably during your adjustment period.
How long do full and partial dentures last?
5
While your dentures are highly durable, the physical shape of your mouth naturally changes over time. On average, full and partial dentures should be professionally reviewed every year and typically need to be replaced or completely updated every 5 to 7 years to maintain optimal function and facial support.
Can I sleep in my dentures?
6
As a general health rule, we strongly advise removing your dentures at night. Taking them out gives your gum tissues a vital chance to rest, prevents bacterial buildup, and maintains excellent long-term oral hygiene.
